Scenes from Our Weekend...

Darcy was delighted to find the cabin had wireless internet! No land line phones and infrequent cell signals...but INTERNET, none-the-less! It had a TV, too, though we never bothered turning it on to see whether it worked or not.

Gabby being admonished by her owner!

Rayna never tired of playing tug-of-war with Ransom and Gabby...though I think they both have her outweighed, at this point!

Both the pups tow the line when little Rayna issues commands! Here she has placed both of them in "down stays"!

Doug using Gabby as a footwarmer! Gabby dearly LOVES to snuggle up under folks' feet when they are sitting down!

Pitiful Ransom in "time-out". (She 'forgot' to come when I called her!)

Rayna never met anything too icky to pick up and closely examine and beg to bring home! My favorite quote of the weekend occurred when the kids, Iran, and I went to admire the seven pound trout the fellow in the next cabin had caught. Rayna had to reach out and "pet" the fish. She doesn't seem to comprehend that you can look at something with your eyes, without your fingers simultaneously curling around it! She glanced up from the fish and happily announced, "It feels just like BABY SLOBBER!!!"

Alas, when you are at the bottom of the pack, you don't get invited to the supper table until everyone else, especially the children(!), have finished eating. Ransom and Gabby patiently bided their time a respectful distance away from the hotdog roasting and s'more making. They got to practice remaining in their "down stays" while ever so gently taking tidbits of hotdog offered them now and again by the kids.

This scene kind of sums up the delightfully relaxing time we had this weekend! Lisa, Iran, and their dog Gabby with my little Rayna. (Rayna LOVES the way Gabby LOVES to be a giant furry pillow!)
