Eagle...Voiter...Vulture....WHATEVER!!!

Everyone in the family makes a concerted effort to help Doug learn new words and learn how to group words into simple sentences. Rayna is probably the most vigilant teacher of us all...often with amusing results. Yesterday, the two little ones were running around together playing in the front yard, when Doug screeched to a stop and pointed up into the sky yelling excitedly, "EAGLE! EAGLE! EAGLE!" Rayna interupted him to declare, "That isn't a eagle, Doug! It's a VOITER!!!"

We seem to have a great deal of oversized voiters around here. You know, those HUGE black birds with the ghastly red heads that feed on carrion? Yup. Of course I had to call out from the front porch, "That isn't a VOITER, Rayna...it's a VULTURE!" Ahh, the progression of corrections seems to never end in this household...it just winds its way up the family chain!
