Birthday!!!

We celebrated Grant's birthday today by just taking it easy and enjoying the day. The weather was warm and sunny as we moseyed down to Springfield and ate at Wingstop. Then we browsed a bit at Barnes and Noble. On the way back, we stopped to take photos of the various places around town that are using the logo Grant designed for the city of Bolivar. It's fun spotting his work on billboards, public work signs, city trucks! Then Grant picked Darcy up at the home she was staying at for D-Now so she could come home and get ready to go to the ROTC Ball with Kegan. (We had been planning on picking her up around 4:15, but she called at the last minute and asked us to pick her up at 5:00 instead because the college student who was leading her group had offered to do her hair and make-up for her...much cooler than getting ready at home with parents who might offer opinions along the way!) We met Kegan's mom for the first time as he and his mother came to pick Darcy up. We saw Darcy again, briefly about 10:15pm tonight when Kegan's mom brought them back here and Grant ferried her on back to the D-Now home she's been spending her weekend at. (Discipleship Now is a weekend Bible study retreat that she goes on each year with her youth group. They are all to meet back with their families tomorrow at church...except for Darcy, she has nursery duty, so we won't see her until after church.)

Rayna received the wonderful news today that she received PERFECT points in both of the Gold Cup categories she entered (solo and hymn). She was pretty excited when she got that call from her piano teacher!
