It is Morning...
It is morning. It is a new day. Today is Frankie's fifth birthday and her grandparents are en route to reach her. She is being cared for by friends. It is a new day. Annika, as of about 15 minutes ago emerged from her third liver transplant. It will be a long, hard road ahead recovering. There will be more surgeries in the days ahead before they will finally be able to sew her abdomen shut--having located the left-over "bleeders" one by one and sealed them off. She will be on the ventilator for a while. But, during the night last night, she came through the roughest part of the storm. A lot lies ahead, but it is morning, now, and my precious niece is here for it.

Thanks, Monica. The internet is a good thing. I can feel like you are here, following Anni's progress and lending your support, and yet not worry about how your family will do without you there. Much love to you (and the rest of the family).
love for annika, and your whole family. xoxo
